We spent a week at Corlea House with three other couples and oh what a time we had. The house is big, beautiful, and fully equipped. A perfect set up for 8, both spacious and comfortable with views of the patchwork, rolling green hills you associate with Ireland. Vincent and Mary were more than accommodating, even arranging a ride home for all of us from the local restaurant. We recommend this house to everyone considering a trip to Ireland. We’ll be back!

This accommodation is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen! Calm, beautiful location, lots of comfort, a dream kitchen with all amenities on what you could wish. We took the house as a base station and taken from there many excursions. There were 7 on the way, but in this house can also 7 have peace and quiet, classified as large and great, has genung every place and even go out of their way to kann.to pay the main food is a 5 min, the nearest major city is the Gort min is achievable in Fig.20. The view is awesome and the owner is a madness, friendly, nice, helpful, simply “cool”. every time we went on a trip, it was a pity, because the house has to do everything necessary to relaxing holiday without moving far away. Anyway, I would like to thank Bethanie and her in-laws for this great stay. The price performance – ratio of this hotel is just great.

We have just returned to Massachusetts after a week’s stay at Corlea House and I can’t find the words to describe how wonderful an experience this was for my group “The Contenders”. Previously we stayed in Westport and we found folks in the Cty Clare area as welcoming as in Mayo. We were greeted by Vincent at the Lady Gregory Hotel and then made our way to the house where Mary was waiting. Stunning is the only word that comes to mind when you reach the top of the hill at Corlea House. Breathtaking views of the lake. The house was immaculate. Everything you needed and more ! Not sure if it is the Irish food, grog or air but we all slept like logs ! Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. We used Corlea House as “home base” and there were plenty of golf courses to challenge our games. Some highlights – You must try Pepper’s Pub at the bottom of the hill. They actually come and pick you up at the house ! A half km around the corner is the local grocer for provisions, coffee and the morning papers. One morning we had a bit of traffic – one deer , four mallards and a stray cow. All in all, the roads are well marked.
We all hated to say goodbye , but we will return. Bethanie couldn’t have been more accomodating via phone. I give this experience two thumbs up.
I have been meaning to write in the guest book since the summer. My family and I rented the Corlea House in August 2015 for two weeks. It was amazing! The house was spotless and beautiful. The view was breathtaking! Mary and Vincent could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. We didn’t have a GPS in the car and Vincent lent us his own personal one. It was just so kind and thoughtful. We look back on our pictures from our trip with such fond memories. It was a trip of a lifetime. We would recommend everyone to this house. Thank you for everything! Love, Bernadette, Jerry, Hailey, Jack and Nolin

We stayed at Corlea House one year ago and have missed it every day since! Mary and Vincent were so hospitable and helpful. We loved the chocolate cake waiting for us in the fridge! The house was beautiful and completely immaculate! There was plenty of room for the seven of us and each and every one of us enjoyed the surrounding sights. Waking up to the cows across the street was so fun and we spent a few nights down at Pepper’s Pub listening to live music and eating great food! We would love to come back for another visit in the future and stay longer!

We stayed at the house for 12 days. The location is incredible, way up on a mountain overlooking Lough Graney with views all the way into Galway bay. The house is extremely spacious and is designed and appointed to perfection. We cooked breakfast and dinner there most days and spent our days enjoying the sites and culture. The house is located within easy access to Galway, the Burren, the cliffs of Moher, Cork and the ring of Kerry. It is very easy to do day trips to all these locations and be home in time to cook dinner.
If you are traveling to Ireland and want to explore the west and South West of Ireland this is the place to stay.

We just experienced one spectacular vacation, thanks in great part, to Vincent, Mary, Bethanie and the Corlea House! Simply read all of these reviews, multiply them by ten and you’ll have discovered one of Ireland’s many delightful jewels. Truly, each compliment so well deserved. We can’t say enough about the hospitality and kindness of our hosts, the home’s plush comforts and, oh my goodness, the heart stopping views! For those of ye Ireland bound, don’t miss this treat!
Thank you all again… lovely, lovely indeed!

What an amazing property. My family felt at home the moment we arrived. Vincent and Mary were extremely welcoming and accommodating. The house is unbelievably beautiful with a breathtaking solarium and plenty of room for our family of 8. We were able to travel to many different towns in all directions as the house was centrally located. If you are thinking of visiting Ireland, this is the perfect place to discover your home away from home.
This was a dream house to stay in! Everything was like new and very tastefully decorated. The rooms were very comfortable and the showers (with jets!) and jacuzzi were luxurious. The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in and the view from the dining room was stunning. Vincent and Mary gave us a very warm welcome and made sure we understood how things worked in the house. Very thoughtful touches like hand soap and shower gel, a yummy looking cake and milk in the fridge made us feel most welcome. The house is quiet and idyllic :). We enjoyed coming back at the end of a day of touring to this amazing home. Would love to go back again!

What a beautiful house! We had a family reunion at Corlea House for five nights and it was certainly difficult to leave. Everything about this house is A++! Vincent and Mary met us in the town of Gort and we followed them by car for about 20 minutes, down roads lush with scenery to this gem by the lake. The views are magnificent and the house is everything you’d want or need. From the huge entrance way to the cozy living room with a wood burning fire and a kitchen with a butler’s pantry that is huge and beautiful with gleaming granite countertops and loads of cupboards filled with everything you need to cook and bake, including a great gas stove; this kitchen is definitely a chef’s dream. We all took turns making meals and sharing them around the huge eight-person dining table. The sun room off the kitchen is so cozy and warm with spectacular views out over the lake and countryside. We curled up here often with a cup of tea and great conversation. While we thought we were alone in this private retreat, many pairs of eyes were on us from time to time…bovine eyes! The cows up on a hill were often looking down at us…it was so cute…our bovine buddies! Off of the sunroom there is a gorgeous stone patio with a round picnic table, which was just great for our brood to chat around while having before-dinner drinks. The four bedrooms are spacious with plenty of storage and comfy beds and each has its own en suite! Such a treat! There is also a fabulous whirlpool bath in a separate bathroom with skylights…what a way to relax! There is even a separate sauna and while we didn’t use it, it’s yet another reason for a return visit. We couldn’t have been happier here and Vincent and Mary are so sweet…they even left a cake from a local bakery in the fridge for us! We’ve stayed at many rental homes on several continents and have to say that Corlea House tops them all. And just to make it all even better, we also had four glorious days of sunshine! We highly recommend a stay at Corlea House…it doesn’t get any better than this! Thanks so much Vincent and Mary!
A large house, calm, with nice sight around, all comfort inside.
With kind hosts, everything was great.
We had very nice week.
best regards to Vincent and his wife who welcomed us very nicely.

We spent 2 magnificent weeks at Corlea House. The house was luxuriously appointed and equipped with everything one could possibly need on holiday. Vincent and Mary who manage the house made us very welcome and ensured that we were thoroughly briefed on all the equipment in the house. To ensure that we had no difficulty finding the property Vincent and Mary met us at a local hotel and led us to Corlea House.
The views from the house across Lough Graney were spectacular and never boring. The colours of the countryside continually changed with the weather (and that changed a lot!). On a good day The Burren and Galway Bay were visible.
There’s lots to see aand do in the local area. Bunratty Castle, the Lough Derg Drive, The Burren and the Cliffs of Moher to mention just a few. Be sure to visit Pepper’s Bar (Sunday & Wednesday are Irish music nights)
We have no hesitation in recommending this excellent vacation rental
Our family of 6 had a fantastic time in Ireland. We absolutely loved staying at the Corlea house. The views were spectacular and the accommodations were wonderful. Vincent and Mary met us at the house and could not have been more welcoming. Their suggestions and insights into the local areas of interest were invaluable. Vincent and Mary made us feel like family. We hope to return again soon.
David & Alixe Jenkins
We stayed with our son Tom and 3 of our extended family in June.
Everything you read and everything you see on the website describes and positions this property perfectly. Quality throughout and everything you need for your stay. The view from the conservatory and the amazing sunsets mean that you will need to do little else in the evening than look out of the window.
Beautiful understated area of County Clare with great people and a few hostelry’s to tempt you. Good Guinness to be found at Tony Mac’s (McNamara’s) and Canny’s. Pick up your groceries while you’re there!
You may spend hours looking around for your ideal rental property – don’t bother – just pick up the phone to Bethanie and book your Irish retreat. Her mother and father in-law, Vincent and Mary, will look after you well and ensure you have a great stay.

When we are at the house, we were always looking out the windows. Our eyes would be glued to the view; with all the windows, it is like watching a movie — rainbows, fogs, mists, etc. Then, we would marvel at the well thought out construction details in this house and the beautiful furnishings. We felt so pampered to be cocooned in all the opulent touches like the kitchen, the heated bathroom floors, a jacuzzi room, a sauna…….and we were happy to have found Corlea House as our home on our first trip to Ireland.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed being in Corlea House for a month; it is a first class house. Incredibly, what topped this beautiful house is Vincent and Mary who took such good care of us. They welcomed us with flowers and cake. They called and checked on us, gave us travel tips and lots of their time. Like my son said: “Having tea with Vincent and Mary is my highlight.” We treasure meeting these good people!
It is a rare combination to stay at a meticulously cared for elegant house and also be so warmly cared for during a stay. Finding this gem and knowing Vincent and Mary has made our first trip to Ireland very memorable — we feel very fortunate.

We had a fantastic time at your lovely home. Modern and spacious but still a nice touch of traditional Ireland. The bedrooms were huge, and it was a real treat to have king-size beds in three of the rooms–and so comfortable. The house was toasty warm despite the chilly November weather, especially with the fireplace! The modern kitchen made it easy to cook–lots of space too. Perfect for our family holiday. Our 91-year-old grandmother was quite comfortable. Mary and Vincent were unbelievably kind and accommodating with anything we needed. And it’s such a picturesque location–we would highly recommend Corlea House to anyone, especially families.
e loved Corlea House and the beautiful picturesque Irish setting. Your hospitality was so warm and you made us feel so comfortable. You have a lovely home and we thank you for making it available to us…we just hope we can return someday!
This house is a “home”. It’s accoutrements are perfection personified, and at the same time it is warm, comfortable, relaxing, and serene. Whoever decides to stay in this “home” will know that their comfort is the priority. I have returned, and will continue to return, again and again, and it will always be the same: beautiful, welcoming, delightful, magical!
I can’t wait to be here-I have visited the area and it IS as beautiful as it looks if not more. Anyone who wants to visit Ireland would find this a perfect place to stay as they visit other parts of the country!
Wish I was there now!!
This beautiful house is certainly the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! All the amenities of home, yet in a luxurious setting. I love all the windows as the views are to die for! My daughters and I enjoyed a vacation in June of 2009 in Ireland, and I have been all over the Caribbean, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica…. and this was by far our most favorite spot yet. The Irish people are the most welcoming people, and being single, I have no clue why I came back to America? We were fortunate to have 9 days of 80 degree sunny weather during our stay – I think it is to get us to come back! The location of this beautiful house was ideal for us. It was very easy to tour many of the places on the west coast we wanted to visit and be able to return in the same day. This house also offers the opportunity for a Stay-cation as you can walk daily around the area for good exercise, unforgettable scenery, and there are some quiet little local pubs close by down the mountain with warm welcoming people who will chat you up with a Guinness in the evening. Honestly, a little slice of heaven to be sure!
Corlea House is a real gem. If you are looking for peace, relaxation and comfort with luxurious furnishings this is the place to stay. The house is short of nothing including the views.

We love private vacation rentals, but sometimes they don’t stand up to their representation…..however your home far exceeded our every expectation!
The house was very clean, and had all the creature comforts of home. The views were spectacular with beautiful sunset views. The Williams were extremely helpful in offering us directions to area travel destinations, and ideas for places we hadn’t even thought of. We’ve already started recommending this house to our family & co-workers. Great stay for anyone wishing for a quiet and relaxing Ireland destination. We can’t thank you enough for allowing us to share your home, and we hope you’ll let us stay with you again in the future. We definitely want to come back!

Carol and the boys from Montclair, NJ
My 3 boys and my mother and I spent 5 weeks exploring Ireland, and stayed in 4 different houses in 4 different counties. This house was by far our favorite – had I known ahead of time how much we’d enjoy this place, we would have stayed for most of our trip! The house was very thoughtfully built, with incredible views of the lake and surrounding hills from every window. Watching the interplay of light and shadows in the vally below was indescribably beautiful. And the sunsets, well, those you have to see for yourself to appreciate! All of this could be watched from the comfort of the sunny atrium off the kitchen. The kitchen is a cooks dream with every tool you can imagine. There was a nice side yard where my three boys enjoyed playing soccer every day, and lots of fantastic walking paths nearby. The house was also a safe and comfortable place for my 80 year old mother, as there was a lovely bedroom on the first floor, so she did not have to climb any stairs. The neighbors were so kind and the caretakers Mary and Vincent were warm, welcoming and helpful. It was very hard to say goodbye to them and to leave that beautiful house and area. If we are ever lucky enough to go back to Ireland, I’d make sure to stay at Corlea House again! Beth, please send our regards to Vincent and Mary from Bernadette, Carol and the boys from Montclair, NJ!

If you want the best holiday ever in a heavenly house in one of the best locations in Ireland then Corlea House is the one you are looking for. We have just woken up everyday for the last 7 days to amazing views having had the most comfortable sleep. Four couples perfectly catered for. This house is all about comfort and pleasure. Step outside and the view is spectacular and you will forget all your cares as you stroll along the country lanes marveling at the lough and the countryside. Less than an hours drive in any direction and you are visiting some of the best parts of the west of Ireland: Galway, The Burren, Cliffs of Moher and more. We have been visiting Ireland for many years and this particular stay hasn’t been bettered. We will be back for more. Thank you Bethanie for letting your lovely house. Thanks to Vincent and Mary for settling us in. God bless Ireland.
We have just returned from a wonderful 6 day stay at the Corlea House. It is beautifully decorated and the kitchen is a dream to work in. The jacuzzi tub/cedar sauna were heavenly after a chilly day of site-seeing. The house is within an hour drive of Shannon Airport, Galway, Ennis, and the Cliffs of Moher.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Vincent and Mary are genuine, warmhearted people who were willing to assist us in any way.
Thank you Bethanie for sharing your lovely home.
The house met and exceeded our expectations. Beautiful patio to watch the Irish sunset. We had 8 days at Corlea House and had a warm welcome from Mary and Vincent. Vincent came to our rescue when we were lost one evening. Great vacation in a bucolic setting . Brilliant!!!

Beth and Trevor, We’re still talking about what fun we had last week June 24- July 2. What a beautiful home you have – which everyone has said because it’s quite true! We enjoyed having all the amenities we needed and felt right at home while we visited. The table even sat all the family together which is a special treat for us. Thank you to Vincent and Mary for being such gracious hosts and treating us so royally. We’ll be back again to visit. Soon! God Bless Gudney, Debbie and Lily
Bethany and Trevor,
On behalf of the Ledwith Family I want to thank you for letting us visit and stay at your wonderful Corlea House.
The house was our home away from home for the week.
All the amenities were present. The view of the valley was spectacular.
As you know the house was our base to visit many of the tourist locations as well as LaHinch Golf Course.
Our main reason for the visit was to travel to the Ledwithstown House close to Ballymahon.
Vincent and Mary provided valuable information about the area. We were able to visit Pepper’s Pub and enjoy the Irish music and a young Irish stepdancer.
Again, I thank you and look forward to meeting you in the Boston area.

Wow! Corlea House is amazing, we had such a comfortable stay its extremely high standard finish in every detail is second to none. It was perfect in every way and the views were to die for. We got out and about to the Cliffs of Moher, Ennis, Galway, and surrounding areas. This was our first visit to Ireland and we loved it, the tranquilty, the Loughs, the beautiful landscapes. Thank you to Vincent and Mary for their very kind welcome, and for the Pie & Cake too, Mmmmm scrummy. Thank you Bethanie for allowing us to share your beautiful home, and for your attention to detail throughout the booking process and beyond.

Dear Beth and Trevor, My cousins and I traveled to Ireland in March, 2011, and we were fortunate enough to stay in your lovely home! Your place could not have been more perfect, and Trevor’s dad and mother could not have been more gracious hosts! It is now September and we are still talking about our time in Corlea House and counting the days until we could return again!
The Ryan Family
Dear May, Vincent, Beth and Trevor, Thank you, thank you for an absolutely beautiful house and most of all for your warm hospitality. We celebrated my Dad’s 8Oth birthday at Corlea House and my only regret is that we didn’t stay two weeks! From the beautiful kitchen to outrageously comfortable bedrooms, we couldn’t have had a more wonderful time. We are already talking about a return trip next year, Many thanks to you all for a once-in-a lifetime family reunion.
The Van Hoet Family
Mary & Vincent – What a wonderful home away from home to spend our week in Ireland. The house was spectacular and the view was awesome. The house had everything we could have possibly needed. You have paid great attention to every detail possible. From greeting us upon arrival to “checkout” at departure, your hospitality was above and beyond anything we have ever encountered with previous vacation rentals. The Cake and Milk was a great treat too after our long day of travel! If we ever have the chance to come back to Ireland, we would definately want to stay at Corlea House again.
And Thanks to Bethanie for such an easy rental process!
Thanks Again – Diana, Gerard, Camial & Gabrielle
